The STEM Library Space

STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics), sometimes called STEAM to include Art, is an educational approach emphasising integrating diverse disciplines to promote critical thinking, innovation, and creativity to problem solving and design.

In addition to theoretical knowledge, STEM education emphasizes practical hands-on learning and experiences along with as a well-equipped Makerspace that offers tools, equipment, materials, and skilled staff.

STEM education prepares learners for future demands, where critical thinking, problem-solving, and innovation will be highly valued. By fostering a multidisciplinary approach to learning, STEM education encourages learners to develop a growth mindset and a lifelong love of learning.

The STEM Library Space website was first created to support the City of PAE Libraries Community Learning STEM and Makerspace Team with the challenges of meeting the community’s needs during the COVID-19 pandemic. The website continues today due to the ongoing expectations of our STEM and Maker community for more detailed information about our projects, activities and programs.
